Equine-Assisted Therapy and Parenting Class: Strengthening Bonds and Building Skills

This program combines the healing power of equine-assisted therapy with a parenting class to support individuals in enhancing their emotional well-being and parenting skills simultaneously. The experiential nature of working with horses facilitates self-discovery, emotional regulation, and interpersonal connection, while the parenting class offers strategies and guidance for effective parenting.

Spring 2024 - After School Programs


*Partial and full scholarships are offered to all foster youth, low-income families, and others facing a financial difficulty or other life crisis. LEAD with Horses is a nonprofit and does not turn anyone away due to inability to pay.

5-7 YEARS OF AGE: Lessons for Littles

A course designed specifically for the social and emotional needs of young children. Children develop a greater understanding of emotional expression and regulation, communication, and cooperation as they play with horses and peers. Group meets once per week for 8 weeks.

This course focuses on emotional health and social skills through hands-on activities with horses. Students learn relationship skills, self awareness and regulation, decision making, problem solving and more. Group meets once per week for 8 weeks.

Specifically designed for the difficult transition from child to adolescent. Students learn relationship skills, self awareness and regulation, decision making, problem solving and more. Group meets once per week for 8 weeks.

Teens build on personal strengths and gain new skills as they develop a relationship with a horse. The horse is a guide for mindfulness, patience, communication and rapport. Group meets once per week for 8 weeks.
